id say push, looks like it should spin clockwise from the blade trail.

I would have to say pull, you wouldn't put a big fan housing in front of a radiator it would block half the rad off!

designed as a pull, but worked pretty well both ways by reversing the connections

Look at the fan blades from the rad side,
If they are convex its a rear mounted pull fan, if concave , a front mounted push fan.
Remeber "Budget" fans have been around for a long time -
see www.s-v-c.co.uk & we will have an even lower-cost fan @ Stoneleigh. This will be, like the one shown here much deeper than the modern
designed fans, so make sure you have lots of space between the rad and the engine.

Just bought one and will see how I get on.
Steve @ SVC, the £30 plus P&P looks a great unit. Don't think I could justify the £80 in petrol that it would cost me to drive to
Stoneleigh and back!

Next thing, I have a thermostatic switch in line to the fan, how do I wire in an overide switch, in parrellel right?

Paid £15 for mine at local breakers & thought I'd got a good deal. Bit sick now I've seen them on ebay, anyway still happy with it,
looks like it'll do the job.

Maybe i'm missing something but if the direction of airflow is through the RAD it shouldn't matter which side it is mounted... whatever
the fan pushes out of 1 side it must have pulled from the other?
Or is it all to do with high and low pressure air sp one had a better cooling effect?

It'd be alright as long as you were stationary, but as soon as the car starts rolling you're not going to be doing anything useful by
trying to push incoming air back the way it came, a bit like piddling into the wind

Weeee! yeh I under stood that bit just forgot to add it.
Was more meaning if you had a puller fan that was designed to go behind the rad and pull through it, if you flipped it over completely and mounted it
on the opposite side would it not become a puller (although that wouln't work if it had a cowl)

It`s a push or pull, I bought one on ebay for race car very powerfu,l not bad for £6.00 plus postage

so how come fitting it behind the radiator doesn't block the rad off then?
It makes no different with the cowl if it is in fornt or behind.
Whether you fit it in front or behind depends on the fan blades -they are optimise to worj better in one direction but usually for our purposes
doesn;t matter as long asthe motor is happy to spin both directions, and usaully they do.
