1/4 mile day, RAF Brize Norton.

Ok folks, just got notice of this from a friend.

The venue will consist of a ¼ mile “non-competitive” timed sprint on one of the longest taxiways. Followed by the opportunity to see what maximum Vne (velocity) you can attain on the main runway, a distance of approximately two miles.

Things you may want to know:

Booking in starts at 08.30 ends 12.00, If your not here by 12.30, the scrutineer(Me) will be blast'in up and down the runway.
Runs start 08.30 end 17.00.
All safety aspects are covered.
Vehicles will be scrutinised before the event.
Helmets are mandatory and arms / legs must be covered.
Timing is by electronic means.
The taxiways & runway at Brize have been re-surfaced so grip is high.
As a military establishment the event could be cancelled at any time for operational or
security reasons.

Prices are as follows:

Advance / On the day

Bike / Car single run - £10 Bike /Car single run - £10

Bike / Car UNLIMITED RUNS - £30 Bike / Car UNLIMITED RUNS - £40

All runs are subject to aircraft movements, weather and the prevailing security state.

If you wish to U2U me your address I'll post you and entry form.

ATB Dan.

Is there a noise limit? If so, what?
Is there a limit to the number of cars / bikes?

You'd be hard pushed to be noisier than a VC10 (The usual occupants)

Bollo, I'm booked to work it, I'll tell john about the show.

Noise levels, if your car beats the vc10 level of 127Db then i'll ban it myself, number wise there is no limit i'm aware of, after the timing guys have been paid then the rest goes to charity

Vne – never exceed speed. The IAS which should never be intentionally exceeded. If parts start falling off the car then you can assume you've reached Vne.

There are several RAF runways used for trackdays and have 100 dB(A) limits imposed on them. I was just checking.

can your timing guys do 0-60 as well? I keep getting people asking me what it'll do.
