More Ebay Scammage
As many fuel knoe, Zil likes a bargain.
That's why I excitedley told everyone at Forrestburn that I would be buying
this
A Phantom GTR for £2,500, fully built and on the road ? !!! Too f**in' right I will.
Anyway, reality dawns with this morning's email.
Here is our man's lame attempt at fraud.

The car is in excellent condition, no damage, never involved in any accidents, garage kept, clear HPI, full service history!
I am selling this car for £2500 including delivery anywhere in UK. I think this is a low price but i need cash for a family emergency. I have to tell
you that I'm currently out of town with some major problems so pick up/view isn't an option. If you want to buy this vehicle email me back
with your full name and address to start the official procedure trough eBay. They will send you a notification with ALL the info regarding delivery,

I'd worked it out after you mentioned it last night and I took a peek... Plus theres also the real listing on ebay starting bids at £7k or
so.

Why aren't these scumbags not going to jail as soon as they try even one attempt of something like this.
Ebay has been notified why hasn't this been pulled immediately

That ad is identicle to the one i nearly got caught up in. It was a 1972 e-type for same price, same description. When i e-mailed as i was very wary
of the low price as these cars sell so easily for £30000 the s**tbag confirmed me as the buyer. I didnt send any money or anything and haven'ty
heard a thing about it since.
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

Also his location is Leicester, Rutland.
Now anyone with knowledge of the Midlands will know that Rutlandshire devolved itself from Leicestershire many years ago and that Leicester (the city)
was never inside the boundries generally accepted to be Rutlandshire...
What a BS merchant....

To be honest the police don't give a shit. Have you tried reporting it to them?
The met police website says report it to Ebay. IE we don't want anything to do with it.

Strangely they take the same view about the drug dealers who work my surgery car park every day.....

Had the same thing about a bike, although that wasn't so ridiculously underpriced as some others but still an obvious scam; how stupid does he

Ebay don't give a toss if you get screwed. They still get their commision, so why would they stop it?

What's even more anoying is that Ebay do diddly squat about it. They eventually get round to removing the listing but why not do it properly?
Make registration on Ebay more robust, keep records of the IPs used by the logins (and pass them onto the police when the username is used for
fraudulant activity).
The failure of Ebay to give a poo really takes the piss....

There are loads of similar listings on ebay, the majority seem to be classifieds. I've been looking at new motorbikes for the last couple of
weeks and there are soooo many like this, where the wording is similar, the seller has no feedback and the price is ridiculously low, though the
sellers and locations are different.
If it looks too good to be true, it normally is! And I'm afraid to say that if you get sucked into it you only have yourself to blame!

Might be a bit dull here but how are they hoping that the fleecing will work? You send your name and address and they presumably ask for the cash,
and you never see the goods? I see the false listing is still there.
Incidentally I've seen some equally unrealistically low prices on pistonheads so I guess its widespread. I paid for but never received an item
off ebay some time ago (sensible price for a small item), started the ebay complaints procedure and they said they could or would do nothing about it.

Probably something to do with having your full address and ebay login for identity fraud purposes..... What questions to Ebay ask if you forget your
password and want to reset it? Full address and postcode perhaps????

I saw a similar car advertised the other day on a website for £16,000. How the hell could that have been taken seriously for £2,500 delivered anywhere
in the country ?

Had a similiar thing with a boat last week, asked the seller a simple question about the spec,which he should have known,and he replied with same sort
of thing,out of town my arse!totally ignored the question,offered free delivery anywhere in UK,looked the make of boat up on net,it was worth at least
8K,he was asking 2K!! only needs a few punters to fall for it,and scumbag is doin very nicely thankyou!
Surely plod can track these gits down,same way they catch pedo's

Hilarious if you search ebay for 'phantom gtr' you get just the two ads, side by side with the same photo!
