Disappearing Cougar...

Figure this one,
I was planning on Mercury Cougar based Locost, I have had this Cougar for some 3 years now, it was bought as a toy for 1/4 mile racing, but never worked on or raced.
Last year back in August 22nd i subscribe to Locostbuilders then decide to pursue a dream.. (nightmare????).
First things first, brakes and uprights get the attention and The Cat goes to a mechanic for refurbishing; after a copule of days it`s ready to roll.
As the car has been for 3 or 4 years without registration valid, the mechanic decides to swap License Plates for a newer set (Different Car!!!).
Next day I go to pick up the car; driving with expired registration is no big deal here in Mexico, so off i went, first stop, renew my mobile contract. In the Mobile company parking lot i get a flat, as I have to go back to work later that day (I work 7:30 to 13:30 then 15:30 to 18:30 YES I`M A BRUCKING SLAVE) I had to tell the security guy that I could not pick up the car the same day - he says - OK... no hay problema....
Next day... go to work, arrange for brother to pick up car.... Next thhing I know is my brother calls and tells me : Bro there`s no car....
First thing that comes to mind... AH OK, he`s joking....
then explains that the car was reported as abandoned because the M F security guy did not put my comments on the log book anad the relief didn`t know I was going to pick it up later.....
So the mobile company call the police wich shows up incredibly FAST!!!!
and run the plates this is when I realize I have a Problem.... because as stated above expired Reg is OK but Hung Up Plates NOT OK.
So now I`m a felon....
A few weeks later, I manage to pay my registration and try to recover the car, but now that I have full documentation,
MY Cat is not in any of three Police Operated Yard....
and there`s no record of where it may be...
Could you believe something like that???
The only thing that keeps the project alive is my newly acquired welding skills and the fact that when I realized thah IRS was too complicated, I decided to go Live Axle and a friend of mine gave me a Mustang 97 for Peanuts...
It was wrecked, but complete front suspension with Steering rack, Steering Column, Pedal Box, T5 transmission and bellhousing, LSD Live axle and electric harness, fuel tank..
I hope this becomes eventually a car

Beware of what you wish.. for it may come true....
