Yamaha R1 Injectors

Guys ... I wonder if someone can help.

I need to know what make the R1 injectors on a '04 engine are.

I also need to know their flow rate in cc/min, and if possible the OEM fuel pressure of the R1 system.

Cheers

Mines an '06 5VY engine and I've just had a peek (dead easy..not) while having a break from trying to get it low enough to go under the bonnet.

They're Denso and one side says 406 and the other has 0300 424 13.

Hope that helps.

Sorry can't see anything else on then and they're not listed in the service manual.

Does that mean I'm not getting that beer. :-(

Depending on how much money you want to throw at this, you could always send them away for flow testing?

I've been told that the 2002 R1 injectors are: 200cc/min @ 2.7bar

By somebody off here that had them up and running on their car with stand alone engine management.

Hope this is of some use.

P.S maybe if the Fuel pressure of 2.7Bar and Chris Masons figure of 42.6 PSI tie up it stands a chance of being correct.

Thanks for all the help guys. Well flow testing is not that expensive, I always have injectors cleaned out and flow balanced for peace of mind.

My initial calculations, require me to use 380cc/min injectors. That's because I do not want to use more than 65% duty cycle. This will allow me to go up to 80% once the whole system has been thoroughly tested. So from the looks of it, i'll have to ditch the stock injectors, and try to see what fits in the R1 intake runners.

Hopefully once this whole project is working, i'll compile a whole document, with all the info required to Turbocharge your R1 locost. Free for all to download ofcourse ... but don't hold your breath.

Adiran ... I'll need your exact GPS co-ordinates of your back garden. It's not easy to drop a pint from a plane over manchester hehehe Wouldn't want it to land in a Catervan owner's back garden!!

I just bought some Focus RS injectors for my 03 R1, was a bit of a 'too cheap to miss' moment on Ebay. Having got them home they look to be physically too big around the sloenoid, I haven't actually tried them yet but I'm pretty sure I'll be on the lookout for some new skinny ones.
