I THINK the Escort MkII RS2000 had an alloy bell housing but I could well be wrong!

You'd be better looking for one with a clutch fork though as I believe they might be different to the standard one. I had to mod mine to fit.

This is something I'm interested in too.

I am using an RS2000 alloy bellhousing between a two litre four speed box and the Pinto. This bellhousing is normally used with the alloy sump that has the arrangement for the clutch although I have a steel sump with the clutch cable passing through a machined plate screwed in place. The alloy housing is more bulky than the cast iron one and may give clearance problems.

I'm considering changing to a Type 9 and wonder if anyone can tell me if the bellhousing will screw onto this box.

Many thanks in advance

John

Yes, an RS2000 alloy bellhousing will bolt to a type 9 box.

I have recently bought one to replace my cast iron one next time the engine is out.

See HERE for some more info (NTDWM)....

Cheers

Just had a thought.....

One thing that you might need to check is the resulting gearstick position as the 4 speedeer and the type 9 may not be the same length???
