Will indicators pass?????

I have bought these indictors but I’m not sure if they will pass SVA because there is no sign of an “E” mark on the lens, and the radius on the rear of the body seems a bit small.

The very well known and reputable company I bought them from said, “they are fine for SVA”, but I have read that all the lights must have an “E” mark on the lens. The last thing I want is to fit them only to have them fail.

Has anyone out there fitted these indicators and had them pass or fail.

Thanks Rob

You don't neccessarily need an E mark on them to pass SVA as long as they are deemed as 'suitable' by Mr SVA.

I had some smaller ones, SVA weren't bothered about the lack of E marking, but pronounced them too dim and suggested I'd probably find they didn't have any reflectors inside (which they didn't). Fitted some salvaged from a torch and they were then deemed OK.

Yes Rob, if fitted in-line with the SVA, ie no more inwards than 400 mm from the widest part of the car (this may be the rear wheels).
They have been supplied to both builders and kit makers for a few years and never had a fail reported to us.

You could have phoned us you know!

Souldn't be a problem. Caterham - Westfield etc etc,l use these "Land Rover" type indicator lights. They are not fitted with a reflector
