good luck, sorry to hijack but is it right that some DVLA offices do home inspections and others don't? I'd of thought it was either all or none. Reason i'm asking is the Chester office said they don't do home inspections any more as they aren't allowed?

any info appreciated

Don't think it's cos they're not allowed, since I went to Chester and was told by the guy, that he just doesn't have time for them as he's too busy (and that was the only reason!). Either way you still have to take your car to them (and they also say, at chester, that you're not allowed to drive it if you ask - so either don't drive it, or don't ask)

BE AFRAID...BE VERY AFRAID....HIDE YOUR FIRST BORN
It'll be fine, just give them a fat brown envelope full of cash when they arrive.

Or, even cheaper, give them a fat brown envelope full of receipts - keeps them busy for ages...

Main receipts sent to the office with the paperwork, inspection took place a few days later at home and lasted about 2 minutes. She checked that engine and VIN matched those on the form and my ID was checked against passport. Then we spent the next 45 mins talking about the car build.

The whole registration process for me was quite painless really, maybe I was just one of the lucky one's. It was Brighton DVLA by the way.
