Most good Motor factors used to keep them. Just DON'T cut the retaining strap till its fitted.





Beware of the Goldfish in the tulip mines. The ONLY defence against them is smoking peanut butter sandwiches.

Get rid of it, you dont need it. A nice new UJ is better when you shorten your shaft. IMHO of course

please please please bin it and get a shaft with a UJ at each end. mine let go and made a right mess of my transmission tunnel and nearly my leg.

Mine was prob from the donor car but still I hate them. Dont allow for any misalignment in the gearbox->diff which is fine in a production build sierra but in a homemade car its not such a great idea.

all imho of course.

To use the correct name Rotoflex rubber couplings are actually pretty reliable and can cope with more angular movement than a needle roller "Hardy Spicer" Hookes universal joint. But on a Seven type car you don't really have the room required for clearance or the thickness of transmision tunnel to cope with one failing and flailling around..

forgot to say this is for another project with a type 9 box in it so would prefer to just replace the rubber
once again thanks folks
