bloody hell - carbon fibre ....
.... is light.
just received my alloy Titec Duke Prolite post and compared to Easton EC70 carbon fibre one, the latter being over 50 g lighter yet the saddle clamp
looks heavier. Well impressive stuff.
(replaced for a post with less offset).

I use carbon in my r/c heli, well aware at how light it can be and strong, tried snapping an old main blade, frightning how much force it took

Yup.
I had a tour round the Honda F1 factory, and picked up a carbon gearbox housing. Unbelievably light, and amazingly strong. The stuff they use for the
weight ballast is amazingly dense though - they can get as much weight as possible as low down as they can.....
None of it is locost tho!

I work in the aerospace industry as a composites operator. Its amazing how much carbon is used, even for tiny parts. The effort thats put into
manufacturing such small parts just for the benefit of saving a few grams is impressive to say the least.

Sorry for the O/T but what's the heli?

I got shown round the Jet stream factory, fab. Like said they go to amazing lengths to remove every last gram of excess, then some fat American
staggers aboard...
