New toy

I got sick of getting stupid quotes for machining so i bought this little beauty. its actually not too bad for a Chinese import.

I made a special weld in tube insert for my wishbones. its not finished yet but the hardest part is done.

Nice one, I bought a lathe about 3 years ago, always told myself I'd buy one, make one bush which would have cost pence, and it wouldn't get used again, but I do use it a lot now....

i got it from little machine shop

It works well but being ali has some flex in it. its really easy to dig the tool in and turning that radius in the pics took about 35 mins

Looks like a neat little solution - I may try to fabricate something similar. The lathe is pretty much my favourite time wasting pastime.

Hi Liam

Bought one of those about four years ago, much against general advice. It has performed well over that period and is still producing bits for the car and other projects. My son taught himself to machine on it and has made many times the cost of the machine and materials producing parts to order. In all it's a smashing little machine.......enjoy.

Regards Mick

radius thingy is very nice!

the lathe itself looks a lot like the bigger brother I have at home btw. is this one with twin prisma shaped bedways or just one for the toolpost and the counter center?
