Silicone or rubber hose?
Coolant hose, should I use Silicone or rubber hose?
Do people use silicone purely because it looks better?

I'd go for rubber as it's cheaper, and does the same job..

Hi.
Excuse 1. The silicone hoses are much better at sealing at joints. Meaning no more having to over tighten jubilee clips and buggering them up.
Excuse 2. They are much more supple meaning less stress on components such as rads. Especially the plastic tank type.
Excuse 3. They are generally much easier to get hold of than the rubber ones these days especially if your after reducing type ones in those tricky
confined spaces.
Excuse 4. they look much better. Bling if you like. But also available in black for the traditional look if that's what your after
Excuse 5. Will be along soon.
Cheers Matt
