What about condition? If everything is in good working order that would seem like a good price to me.

Fair is an awkward concept in buying and selling, I wouldn't bother with it if I were you.

Well you'd need more detail...

Silvertop Zetecs are in the £50 - £200 bracket from a scrappy depending on where / condition and how well you know them.

The Weber Alpha system is available as Ignition only or with throttle bodies - > Any idea which your talking about? The TBs will be worth more.

Be aware that you can't alter the Alpha settings at home as far as I know. This could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on what your looking for.

If it was offered and I could have a good look over it I'd say that's a pretty good starting price for an engine package.

If you don't want to be able to fiddle with settings it's fine.
If you think you might want to tinker with the ignition settings, you can't fiddle with it at all without the help of an authorised Weber agent.
If your installation is significantly different, you might need to be getting in about the ignition settings.

Your call....

I had bad experiences with a couple of silvertop zetecs, cam followers pump up and cause missfires and they both burned oil.I now have a 2 litre blacktop and it is much better plus a blacktop sump is easy to shorten due to the steel lower section.
As said the Weber ECU is non adjustable except by a dealer, megajolt is a better bet and costs about £100 complete if you source the ford bits from a scrappy ie the edis and connector the coilpack and crank sensor on the zetec will work with it and the TPS should be with the bike carbs that you will need to fit.

If you have not sva'd it yet you will want a pre Aug 1995 silvertop to get the carbs through the test with out a cat.

Imho its a fair deal if its in good condition.
ie £100 engine £200 for the ecu.

The ecu would have sold for about £550 new.

Paul I think you where just unlucky to find two bad lumps.
