Getting aerosols that match an unknown colour?

I need to do some painting on my TVR...it has been resprayed very recently in an unknown color...

Is there any magical place I can take a panel...(door)...and have someone cunningly create a couple of aerosol cans containing exactly the right colour of paint?

It will do the job until I save up the money to have it sprayed up properly....

you will have someone local who can match it pretty close.

We have two locals who will use paint colour match chips, you should get close provided the paint was mixed to a known code/colour.

The paint on my car was mixed by my son who works in a paint shop so aside from he knows what went in it i would stand no chance of getting close otherwise.

There is a place called RS Paint (IIRC) in the back of Motorcycle News. They can take a paint fleck and match that. Quite good service too from them in the past.

The car was painted 5 years ago....the company then went bust...so the car sat in the previous owners garage in pieces for 5 years before I bought it....so sadly....no...

Ah, i know that colour. I'm a bit sad with colours, used to know all BL's colours for early 70's minis.

That one is known as BLUE. Technically (in the trade) its called TVR blue, most people just abreviate to BLUE (note capitals are not important when asking for the paint).
