Got the engine out, but I'm struggling to get the clutch arm off to get at the bellhousing bolts!

I've had a good feel around, but there's nothing obvious holding it on the spline.... HEEELP!

seem to remember it just needs a good sharp tug.

Nope... that's not worked!

The bearing seems like it will slip off the spline, but what's stopping it is the fork itself as is held on at one end by a locating pin that I just can't get past...

You need to take the release bearing off first.

Lever off with a big screwdriver then the release arm should slip down enough to come off the pin.

I know exactly the bit you mean, its the pin on the end thats the issue.

In my original post thats what I'm on about with "can't get enough angle on it".

I'm 110% sure that its just a case of getting that circlip off the back of the thrust bearing although its very fiddly.

Just a note - I did also break mine off as it was such a faf, despite Alex's warning!

Is it a split bearing I'm looking for, or do I just lever off the whole lot?

The release bearing is held on with a couple of spring clips which are part of the bearing. New bearings are only a few quid so dont worry about breaking it.

The arm will not come off unless the release bearing is removed

The bearing is all one piece. Half metal and half plastic. Lever between the release arm and the plastic part of the bearing and it should pop off.

Yep, lever off at back of bearing where it meets the clutch arm.

Once its off the release will fall off.

There were no clips, etc. so just before I went for the grinder (I was, you know!) I gave it a sharp tug and it came away beautifully... nothing broken!
