ETB Speedo sensor

I have an ETB speedo gauge with a sensor and two small magnets.

I believe the place to mount the sensor and magnets is at the rear end of the prop shaft, but where exactly is the best place for the magnets?
On the edge of Diff Flange / Prop Flange, on the prop itself or somewhere else?

Also how do you mount the magnets? The instructions say alraldite, then wrap with insulation tape.

Any suggestions/advice on the positioning and mounting method welcome.

Why do they call Port Harcourt "The Garden City"?...... Becauase they can't spell Stramash.

I did ours by machining a discs of ally which slips over the exposed bit of the prop input shaft and held inplace with a grub screw. I milled a couple of slots which the magnets were pressed into with some araldite and made a bracket to hold the sensor, this is held in place by the three gear lever bolts.

If you go down a similar route to this just be sure to leave a bit space behind the disc for the shaft to float in and out of the box, especially if you have a live axle.

Brother in laws Zetec Indy has tham on the driveshaft CV joint we filed the metal and araldited the magnet in place some people tape over the magnet. Had no problems cars been on the road 3 years.

This seemed to be the best location as it is accesible should any adjustment be required
