Anything happening in Scotland next weekend?
The wife & I are off to Scotland tomorrow, and we quite fancy going to some auto event on the weekend of 5/6 September.
British GT championship is on at Knockhill, but according to Google Maps that's a 3 hour drive from where I'll be (half-way between
Inverness and Nairn).
Anything else on? Hillclimbs, sprints, car shows, etc.?

If your are staying for a second week then there is a sprint at Golspie on 12th & 13th September - That is not too far.
Same weekend there is the Bo'ness Revival Hillclimb for historic cars (but again this is near Edinburgh).

It's Scotland. The weather is always reliable. The only thing that changes is the temperature of the rain
My family tree is Scottish but whenever I go back up I either get severely rained on or bitten to death by the midges!!! Still love the place though!!

I know what you mean - I've been watching the weather forecasts, and there's been a band of clouds and rain going diagonally across the
UK, from Cornwall up to Scotland.
While in East Anglia we're experiencing near-drought, everything west and north of us has been getting all the weather!

Prices are a bit too steep for me!
Nice for a special day out, though...
I wish that I could take my toy car up there, but 575 miles in an open car (no roof or windscreen) with no luggage space worth having is a wee bit too
tough! Oh - and about 25 gallons of petrol each way too!
When I'm very very rich I'll hire a transporter and carry it up there...

If you wait for a dry day before you do anything in Scotland you will stay in the house a lot
Just go for it, the weather is normally OK at Alford for the show and it is a really good day out.
My wife is very understanding, she understands that if I am in the garage I am not in the house annoying her.

I know what you mean - I've got a really good fell-walking jacket that has been on the hanger for the past 3 months, and just not needed round
here. It's about to be packed into the case ready for Scotland...
