I doubt Scotland will even come close but I'd welcome some English support.

As for immigrants following the laws of the host country, great! But we Brits make the worst immigrants in the world. When we move abroad, as so many do these days, we generally fail to pick up the language, insult the locals, stick to our own communities and flout the laws of the host country. If the majority of Brits in Spain had to sit a 'citizenship' test, they'd all be sent back here!

Ooops sorry, often do that, i do mean the United Kingdom & i'll happily support any of the Home Countries (or what ever the expression to mean NI, Scotland, Wales and any other bits means).

I totally agree with us brits abroad. I have a real problem learning language and my biggest pet hate abroad is being so ignorant i can't speak the local lingo. I've got some spanish and Finnish friends over here and i love going out with them. I show them british culture and they love it. They show me spanish and I love it. One of my best weekends was in Barcelona with the spaniards - seeing a city with the locals is so much more fun than seeing it as a tourist.

Do these people want to integrate with society or do they want to continue to alienate themselves and keep moaning about not being accepted as normal members of society?

Why do we have a MK Owners club? Because they own an MK, want to talk about it & share the experience? Why is there a BEC list? Because people want to associate with something, feel part of something, share experience.....

I'm guessing its the same for the moggy and harley club. Plus i've witnessed prejudice and the freedom to enjoy your passion in a "safe" environment is probably another big incentive to forming these clubs.

Talking of prejudice, I happen to own a 1958 Peerless GT, a rare glassfibre car based on TR3 running gear. The owners club is part of the TR Register. Historically, these cars have been butchered by TR owners for spare parts as the Peerless was somehow seen as a 'lesser' car, consiquently there's probably only around 50 or so left out of the original 297 cars. Shortly after joining the TR Register, I went along to one of the local groups. Everything was going well 'till someone asked me which TR I actually had. After I said 'I don't have a TR, I've got a Peerless' I would have had a better reception if I'd turned up in a dress, wig & high heels. Now that would be really scary!

There's one lives down this area, disturbingly good legs but needs a check up from the neck up and seems to have a lot of problems with a four o-clock shadow!

You missed the point which was that on the one hand they want to be accepted as normal members of society then they want to seperate themselves from other members of society. If they like Morris Minors, then why not join the Morris Minor Club, why start a 'Gay Morris Minor Club'. What does that mean anyway? Does it mean straight people aren't allowed? Is that not prejudice? In which case do we only allow straight people in our clubs? Of course we don't. We don't say 'The Straight MK Owners Club' or 'Locostbuilders For Straight People'. It is a club for people interested in cars regardless of their sexual preferences, abnormalities, race, religion or gender. Why bring sexuality into it? It's just another example of it being rammed down our throats!
Cheers
Jon

If you object to anything you're xyz-phobic or xyz-ist.

If you still disagree, you're in denial.

At least, I think that's how modern liberalism works.

i agree wholeheartedly with the guy who said live and let live ....

i think that some of you however may have a few issues with your own sexualities because of the way you criticise and accuse others of being wrong because of their sexual preference. Before anyone acuses me of being gay or similar i would like to say that im not.

also some of you i guess would e the kind of people that would not go the my old place of work because of gill and your not alone

i used to work at a landrover garage with a guy names nick and his dad gill

yes his dad is now a woman he has no problem with it nor do i it was a bt weird when she then turned out to be a lesbian at first i thought she wa snicks mum and justr a butch dyke but she used to be a man it doesnt make much sense to me but its her choice

how sure have you got to be that its what you want to do to have ure dick lopped off ??

some of you need to grow up a bit .

I have just read thro these threads and am LMAO.

You guys are brilliant! These threads are like a form of Chinese whispers when they get going. i hope people take it with the comedy twist that was intended.

I should explain, im sure a lot of you live in areas where all sorts goes on. Up this neck of the woods it is a little more unusual to see a more mature and hard lived gentleman struggling to walk in high heels. Iam NOT anyphobic in ANY form. Live and let live is a good description of my ethics. I wish the guy in question every happiness. What prompted the post was (and this is going to type wrong) how funny the situation was. The poor guy is obviously forced to live the life of a woman for some time by the powers that be that run our country, this in itself is a whole other topic, unfortunately he was a big guy, not particularly lady like and was really struggling to walk in those heels. You had to be there. If there is anyone more liberally minded than me out there even they would have had to take a second look. The girls in the car behind were young and to be honest there visible outburst was a little off. I do sit proud in the knowledge that i only looked and didnt pass any comment at the time (thankfully i didnt drive into the car in front either!!!!)

Fake Gucci bag - ahhhhhhh, youve got me there. Presumable his op is going to be pricey so he may actually be able to afford a real one. I innocently presumed fake cos of where i saw him - admittedly not a sound assumption.

For the record im not building a fake Caterham. Iam building a specialist sports replica
