I did start to use another site last month - but ive been off that a bit. What a different world. Its a site on the BMW e60 - the new 5 series - which
ive now got - just about 40 days old. Members also discuss cars, and what a contrast!
stuff like :
what do i do when my oil light comes on , like what oil do i put in it. Answer - I take mine to the dealer and ask them to top it up. - further
response - do they do that under warranty?
Other favourites are :
BMW are so expensive to insure - im getting quotes of $300 a month for my 16 yo learner daughter (its mainly an american site - a quote for my 18 yo
in the uk would be £8k, so they dont know they are born.)
Another - 'how did you finance your car' - my mom bought me it (we are talking a 545i here) - another my dad bought me it for my bday. And
another - I bought it cash...
Perhaps my fave was ' i am so pi$$ed - i just took my car to the country club, and the valet crashed it into a range rover."
I have an inkling why some people dont like bmw drivers now.....
and it makes you appreciate sites like this where real people get involved in the practical side of building your own car, rather than how to fit a
new veneer panel to the dash!

YEP!
but that was actually about 18 months ago
A 1977 (its 30 in feb) kawasaki KH250.
Nearly done a whole 500 miles on it in two summers! (im not too adventurous at present, and I do 100 miles a day to work cross country, so its not too
inspiring to take that far).
I do nice country routes on it, about 25 miles at a time. Its not been out since October - will be great to take it out again. Good thing about being
48 next month and a classic bike is that its only 75 quid to insure - with tax and mot its about 130 ish a year to own - which makes it an affordable
toy.
And it cost about 25% of what ive spent on my so far incomplete car!
btw - im already beginning to wonder why i stayed away from this site so long - its getting addictive again.

Woah!!
Good to see you back - and glad to know the project is still on. I've just stripped down for final tart up and assembly - so not long to go!!
Well still a fair bit of engine and wiring work but should be on the road soon, and unbelievably after all this time, probably still the first 4wd
locost as i intended to be.
What on earth will I do with myself when this nemesis... er, i mean hobby, is finally complete?...
