crumple zones

Here in New Zealand all chassis must incorporate a crumple zone for frontal impacts. Has any one built one here in NZ that can tell me how to do this in accordance with the Hobby car technical manual. I am using the McSorley chassis plans and think i can easily modify them.

it would now appear not, the latest NZHRA Hobby Car Technical Manual specifically has a section on Frontal Impact requirements for custom built space frame chassis.

Hmmm, that Hobby Manual would be very interesting to read. However, getting one to the U.S. might be a bit much.

My Land Rover used to have a sticker that said "My Crumple Zone is the Car in Front"
Maybe not politically correct, but was technically correct.
