Thats 19" x 11" of not mucking about on the rear.
The fronts are 18" x 9.5" Rescued attachment front.jpg

Hi Doug

Wheels look nice!

I'll try not to put this bluntly, (others will probably be along soon to do this), but please tell us that at ride high the inner pivot points of the top rear wishbones (on the chassis) are lower than the point on the top of the upright? It dosn't look it in the pic, and if they are not you will add camber in roll big time?

yeah, looks like half the suspension travel is gone just to get them level.

nice wheels by the way, like the calipers and disks too, definately taking a no messing about approach!

and I thought mine were wide at 7.5" and 9" (both 16" )

Yeah it does look a bit weird, the pivot point for the uppr BJ is in the upright though and the top wishbone fits onto a taper below it.
So the virtual 'A' arm is basically horizontal at full droop.

Just over 400 rwhp seems to be the NA limit of these motors and of course with turbos they go to a lot more.
I like them as they are strong as hell and combined with the fact that they're overlooked by the normal tuning community they are cheap as chips to get.

what gear box are you using? Did you need to make up and adapter plate or is there something off the shelf?

The trans I'm using is an Audi 012 from a Porsche Boxster.
The adapter plate - flywheel I had made to my design.
I've yet to run the engine so its to be determined whether i've designed crap or not.

it's the 012 5 speed so 400hp will break it.
I think the 6 speed would hold together under that sort of hp.

At the moment the motor will be making 265hp if I'm lucky so the 5 speed will do for the moment.

I think Fred Is right and according to your reply it looks more so, A-arm is considered Pivot to pivot, so actually your outer pivots are lower than your inners and this will have the aforementioned effect.

I've had a Boxster S and the 6speed box is a wonderful thing to use but you have to do quite a lot to change to it as it uses a cable change.

Your only around 50bhp more (and lighter) than the std boxster that has the 5 speed so hopefully you should be ok... bit worried about when you upgrade the power tho

The pivot in this case is the centre of the ball joint, not the (ridgid) attachment of the arm to the tapper. The arm and tapper just form in effect an L shaped wishbone. The outer pivot is higher than the inner as a result.

Am I righ that this is the rear and if so is that the lower control arm shown between the upper and lower wishbone?

You are right, I was thinking that the balljoint was at the end of the wishbone, but is in the upright.
