Parts found and no idea where it goes!

Hi guys,

Currently down the garage so posting this on phone, hopefully it works,

Right the problem is I found Thisthis basically it was on the boot of the car and I have absolutely no idea where it goes can you guys help? For a pinto engine to type 9 gearbox

I think it a strap from side of block to gbox bellhousing on starter motor side If memory serves me right....

I can't see the photo but if its about 9ins long with a bend at one end made off flat bar is sounds like Thatcher is right

Thanks for the reply, you was right but it goes on the other side (exhaust side of the engine) scootz found me a picture showing where it goes.




Look at the bottom of the engine just at the point between the gearbox and the engine there is a metal brace about 15cm long

^ thought I would point it out to see if anybody else finds the part and doesn't know where it goes

Excess weight. Surplus to requirements. File it in the Bin, unless you are building a concours vehicle.

Further digging and iv found a few people who don't use them, going to assume it's an over engineered part and will file in the bin I think
