some speedy help on a purchase

Would you pay £460 for this?

I've been given a second chance offer and resigned myself to not getting the TBs so now I'm not sure! Seems to be a bargain though

Set of tbs should cost you £100, manifold £80 and a new MS ecu about £300, so seems steep for some second hand kit.

You could make it for less if so inclined, but its not a bad deal based upon the amount of effort required to produce that.

True value I would say is nearer £300, its not like they are expensive Jenvy TB's or an emerald ECU.

my costs for the same setup

£110 for a guy i know to make me a manifold (not flowed or anything)
£100 for my R1 TBs (that I could sell)
£35 for *plastic* trumpets and connecting rubbers (that I could also sell)
£310 for MS1, £350 for MS11
£25 for the fuel reg?

Thats quickly approaching £600

Thats a standard manifold thats been cut up and hence "flowed"

Buy your Ms direct from the states and its £130 plus pnp and duty.

So you can half that £600

Keep an eye on the bay and you will get a good set of Tb's for £50 or less if your patiant.

hmm okay, well ive got the TBs already so that expense is fixed at £100! I think the consenus is for me not to buy them...so the money will be spent elsewhere on the car for the time being. Cheers guys.

TBH I don't like the look of that ad, 0 feedback new user, with a £460 item, no postage collect only listing.

The do look a bit ropey as wazza says too.

to hijack my own thread, because the advice is so sensible on financial things.

Would you pay £110 inc delivery for this manifold:

manifold

I add this because it looks ginormous compared to that one youve just shown!

Very nice welding.

Short track will do you a plate for £20.

Say £10 for tube.

That leaves fabrication.

In my opinion that manifolds not finished. Does it have the correct port spacings for your Tb's ?
No point In respacing them to fit.

If they fit ? its not a bad price.

sorry should have mentioned that this isnt my actual manifold. Mine will be spaced to suit based on a template I'm sending him.

Thanks for the comments big_wasa, theyve been really useful.
