i've moved on hoping for inspiration. One i couldn't do last night, i did in 3 minutes tonight!
playing with back and forth, i can make the 'bridge', just can't launch something to get / move the huge target 
arrgghh

still doing this....
i can make the brigde,
i can make something to catch the ball,
i can make something to pull the caught ball (and catchng mechanism)
I just can't do all three at once!!!!!

as a clue without the answer think of how the emergancy break wotks on a lift.

I used 2 machines - on RH it would push a stick to make a drawbridge over the gap.
On the LH a mover similar to yours that would topple over.
The top ball is a right hand mover. Along the bottom a left mover and roller. By tweaking the shape, I got it so that when it toppled over, the red
ball ended up in between the top ball (right mover) and the roller.
Here it is having moved left and just before it topples over. The red ball ends up in between and is dragged across.
